Meet your Cancun & Riviera Maya Wedding Photographers
We didn't set out to become wedding photographers. Our backgrounds were different, between yoga, psychology and culinary arts, we somehow discovered our passion in photography. It started with observing and documenting travels, places, faces and what was around us. Until the first time we documented a wedding, something shifted. It became exciting in a way we hadn’t expected, and meaningful in a way that stayed with us.
We are Lorena and Aaron, a husband and wife team based in Cancún, telling love stories through photo and video across the Riviera Maya, Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and destination weddings worldwide. Bendito Amor — blessed love — was the only name that felt right; to us, a blessing is something that finds you and you choose to receive, honor and make your own. That’s why the name stayed.
Being lifelong locals, the Riviera Maya isn't just our workplace, it's our backyard. We’re used to embracing unpredictable weather, heavy humidity, the shifting sun, the moments you can’t plan for and make the most of it. We also know the best spots, both the well-known and the hidden ones.
We could both be described as sensitive souls naturally drawn to observe and appreciate human connection. What we find special about weddings or engagements, is not only capturing the beauty of a moment, decor or venue, but the intimacy and emotion behind it. The joy, the unscripted moments and the love from not only the couple but their important people. For us it is an honor to be trusted with capturing these moments and emotions. Being invited to such a vulnerable space is something that we don’t take for granted, which is why communication prior and during the wedding day is key for us. As we want couples to feel relaxed, be themselves, so we can capture these moments.
Our style could be described as cinematic journalism if you will. Our approach is to allow moments unfold naturally, but we also create space for intentional, artful portraits with some in-between guidance into natural occurring moments. We don’t chase perfection, we look for emotion; we look for candid moments more than posed photos, so that years from now you can go back to these photos or video and relive the emotions behind them.
As a Destination Wedding couple ourselves, knowing what feels to be on the other side, we recommend that you choose someone whose work makes you feel something, if it resonates with you. Have real conversations with them, do a vibe check, ask questions and pay attention to how a vendor makes you feel when you talk to them. You’ll spend a big part of your day with your photo and video team, so connection and trust matter just as much as talent. Also, try to look beyond price and think in terms of value. The right team will not only document your day beautifully but will also help you feel at ease, guide you when needed, and protect the energy of your experience.
